my most recent plate. I have begun editioning the little fellers. This guy has an edition of ten already. I think I want each of the six etchings to have editions of 20, but it takes me something like 23 minutes per print. SO I AM GOING TO DIEE. These editions aren't going to be shown, I just need them incase my plates all vanish or incase someone important somewhere wants to have one ( LIKE MY MOM ) or someone wants to buy one.

this is the beginnings of the found frame spray of prints. They will be shown salon style in found frames. or blob style in some trash. whatever

A habit disruptive to efficiency in Ghanaian culture is based on the idea that seeds and the juicy flesh around the seeds of the tomato bring bad luck if consumed. Time is used to seed the tomato and devoid it of flesh that have otherwise been used without issue. Universally, these habits become less obvious as resources become more abundant, but decoration and time devoted to elevating one's aesthetic worth is a debatably extraneous habit. I am obsessed with global cultural habits that are cogs in the wheel of efficiency and I am trying to relay their benefits as time " persists merely as a consequence of the events taking place in it" (Heidegger). I am looking at why people do what we do or how we develop a pattern for managing time. I doing this through the development of a habitually rendered humanoid culture created by collaging semiotic triggers of global cultural habits together.


I am collecting frames. I want lots of found frames to put my work in, but I want the images to go to the edge of the frame and for them to not be matted, so I will see what happens.

I worked with color a lot this week. the results were positive, but the images of my humanoids were getting lost a little. my camera is missing so I will post pictures when that shows up.

here is the initial build-up of the enviornment for the buffalo people. it is a subtle transfer monotype with gouache coloring, so this photo of it isn't totally picking up what is going on. I did a few transfer monotypes this week of mountains & I am going to try printing the plate in a variety of colors over them.








here is a worm doll prototype (with the litho printed on canvas for the face). The body looks like a turd and I think it's working



and this is my newest etching/ possibly my last for ip. I need a few more lithographs so the two I have make more sense to the folio of work.

I have made doll decisions:

Their faces will be lithographs printed on fabric and their bodies will be leather worms.

They will hang and feel hairy

I have started sketches for dolls + possible layouts for an exhibition
Tonight I will begin constructing the dolls and see what happens.

I don't know if I am about frames or not. I think if I do decide to frame my prints, I need to use found frames & they need not be uniform.

I was also thinking of printing the lithographs on fabric and quilting it.


I am really 100 percent about the crafts here.

making things to fill the time between sandwiches

I wanted to try and have a new plate completed before I submit my portfolio to graduate schools. This guy is giving me trouble as I put the hard-ground on too thick in a rush and baked it for too long (so it flakes off as I am trying to scratch into it). I haven't had access to a studio, so I couldn't fix it and just decided to work with the flaking.

my first application is due on the 10th. hopefully I can manage a good print of this by then.
